Since then, he has earned himself a permanent place on screen, from the Scottish comedy series <em>Burnistoun<\/em> to international productions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rankin<\/strong> celebrated his big breakthrough as <strong>Roger Wakefield MacKenzie<\/strong> in <em>Outlander<\/em>. The charming historian with a strong moral compass, who travels through time, love, and pain, quickly became a fan favorite. With great sensitivity, <strong>Rankin<\/strong> brings Roger&#8217;s doubts, strength, and heart to life &#8211; and ensures that we empathize with him, laugh with him, and sometimes just shake our heads.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to <em>Outlander<\/em>, he has appeared in <em>The Crimson Field<\/em>, <em>Thirteen<\/em>, <em>From Darkness<\/em>, and <em>The Syndicate<\/em>, among others.
