Hardly any film works without its soundtrack. The music adds as much to the story as the visual plot, and it can stir deep emotions in the audience. Some soundtracks, however, can do that much longer than the actual duration of the fil, such as Howard Shore\u2019s Lord of the Rings<\/em> and Hobbit<\/em>. The music of the Shire or the Fellowship theme take us back Middle Earth anytime. But why use “canned music” to go on this adventure?<\/p>\n

If you want to join a group of singers on their journey to Middle Earth, then the RingChoir is just what you are looking for. Anyone who is willing to give in to the music is welcome at the workshop. You don\u2019t need any prior knowledge, but have to mind the following info:<\/p>\n

The choir practices are set every day during the con for two hours each day plus an obligatory stage rehearsal on Sunday morning at 8 am. If you want to be on stage with us during the closing ceremony (providing we\u2019ll be part of it), you need to have attended at least two out of the three daily rehearsals plus the stage rehearsal. To get photos and autographs, you can briefly leave any time during the practices. If you would rather not be on stage, you are still very welcome to join the workshop. After all, it\u2019s about the fun and the music.<\/p>\n

Make sure you register via e-mail (chorworkshop@hotmail.de<\/a>) until 3 days before the con starts so that we can prepare enough folders. The fee for the score will be 5 euros this year.<\/p>\n

Sandra (Vala; organisation) and Kerstin-Anja (Ila; music) have been running the RingChoir at MagicCon<\/strong><\/em> and its predecessors RingCon<\/strong><\/em> and HobbitCon<\/strong><\/em> together since 2011. They are enthusiastic con-goers and have been so for many years and like to share their enthusiasm for (not only) Howard Shore’s film music with other connies. Especially because their “real lives in the outside world” can’t have that much to do with music, the RingChoir is the ideal place to indulge in their own hobby, and to drag other people along with them at the same time. As every year, Vala and Ila are looking forward to the exchange with you, whether in the choir, between the panels or in the evening on the dance floor.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
