MagicCon 5 | Workshop | Die Kostüme von Game of Thrones | Marion Müller

This workshop is dedicated to Game of Thrones costumes. Since you can’t make a GoT costume yourself in 2 hours, unfortunately, we’ll explain the basics. We first talk about the costume designer Michelle and her right hand, also Michelle, and get to know their way of working and the basic design of the different houses, also using their official costume books.

After that, we explain by means of a sample costume that Marion sewed herself, what you should pay attention to in terms of fabrics, colors and materials if you want to sew a GoT costume yourself. In addition, it is also explained what the difference is to the production method in the Costume Department at Game of Thrones. Since we were allowed to visit the department, you will get an insight into the production of GoT and learn which partly very special procedures were used in the production of the costumes.

Finally, we would like to address all cosplayers with their own costumes and explain what you should keep in mind when traveling by car, train or plane. Since we have been traveling a lot with our costumes, we have learned quite a bit about transportation over the years and would like to share this knowledge with you.

We are looking forward to two entertaining hours with you.

Marion and Frank Müller have been active cosplayers for over 20 years and have been intensively involved with Game of Thrones for the last 10 years. Due to their experience with costumes from the SciFi area and medieval garb, they were able to quickly inspire the Game of Thrones officials with their costumes.

As a result, they were allowed to accompany the official GoT exhibitions with their costumes all over the world, got to know both actors and people "behind the scenes", were allowed to co-host the official ThroneTalks on Sky Germany and conduct interviews for Sky on the red carpets at official events.

As a special honor, they were able to visit the studios in Belfast several times and, among other things, were personally invited by Michelle Clapton to the Costumes Department of GoT. In recent years, they have been on the road with their own GoT booth at conventions, showing fans their self-made costumes and props and giving tips and tricks about Game of Thrones.
