The myth Valyrian steel

MagicCon 6 | Vortrag | Der Mythos Valyrischer Stahl | Frank & Marion Müller

It plays a crucial role in the Game of Thrones universe: Valyrian steel.

But what is it exactly? And above all, how was it realized in Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon?

We will explore these questions in our lecture. What is damascene steel, what is blade steel? What are the advantages/disadvantages of the two different manufacturing processes or the finished blades, and what is the significance of hardening?

How is a sword actually made, what are the different types of forging techniques?

What is “false” Damascus steel, how were the Valyrian blades made in Game of Thrones and in House of the Dragon and are there differences? How can you tell a good sword or dagger and are they still made the same way today as they were back then?

Come with us on an exciting journey into the world of steel and learn what you need to be able to make “Valyrian steel” yourself.

We look forward to seeing you.

On Instagram under #gotfrankmarion, they report on GoT events and give fans useful information and tips on costumes, weapons, jewelry and props. Of course, the latest news about the official spin-off House of the Dragon is not neglected.

Since 2015, they have also been passing on their knowledge to fans with their own information booth, giving them an insight into the world of Westeros.
