Drawing on his love for and knowledge of Middle-earth, Daniel was part of the team designing characters, creatures, costumes and props for Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings and Hobbit trilogies. He also worked on Avatar, King Kong, the Hercules and Xena television shows, among other projects.
Daniel art directed Wētā’s Middle-earth collectibles lines for a decade and authored a number of books, including The Art of District 9, The World of Kong, Crafting Narnia, the seven-part Hobbit Chronicles series, and Middle-earth: From Script to Screen. Daniel created culture documents and worked as an illustrator for costume designer Kate Hawley on Amazon’s Rings of Power series, and as a design consultant on the upcoming 2024 War of the Rohirrim animated Lord of the Rings spin off film.
