How to Cosplay Photography
15. January 2018Medi Cosplay – Do’s & Don’ts
8. February 2018You all know Bilbo’s famous red book, but have you ever wondered who made it? Who gave the pages a leather binding? Who embossed the two „B“ onto the cover?
I, Judith Dahmen, sadly can’t answer these questions either, but I can tell you this:
Before books became industrial bulk commodities, they were treasures of high value because they had to be bound by the hands of crafty people. I would like to show you that you can be as crafty as the bookbinders of old and that you can even make the core of your very own book within the 90 minutes of my workshop.
You can either bring your own material or buy it from me for the prime cost of 10 Euro.
Therefore, please make sure you register for this workshop by emailing me: buchbinden@enlothien.de
Workshop leader: Judith Dahmen
Max. attendance: 15 - Pre-registration at: buchbinden@enlothien.deFee: EUR 10,00 - Duration: 90 min
The Workshop will be held in: german - Material to be brought: A basic set of tools will be available, but not enough for everyone. So it would be great if you could bring a geo triangle, sewing needle, scissors, pencil and an awl or roulade needle!
Judith is a RingCon veteran from Bonn. She hasn't missed any RingCon, HobbitCon or MagicCon since 2002.
Her love for old, hand-crafted books made her pick up this hobby back in 2004 when she felt like her friend's fantasy story needed a worthy outfit. Since HobbitCon 2016, she has been offering her bookbinding workshop and is looking forward to be back this year.
