MagicCon 3 | Workshop | Weltenbau: Fantasy-Settings

In numerous novels, Robert Corvus has created fascinating worlds before the eyes of his readers. Magnificent cities, disreputable doss houses, rugged mountains, mighty rivers, amphibious peoples, shining armour, empires, demon worshippers and paladins – how can you give all this shape and add it to a whole that carries an exciting story? Geography, names, cultures, history, shipping, technology and necromancers … all of these can be stumbling blocks or the chance to make the imagined world truly one’s own.

Robert presents his working method and explores variations and new ways of creating the world together with the participants. The participants work in small groups, while the author gives suggestions and support.

Anyone who brings writing materials and a good mood can take part. The participation fee is included in the admission fee to MagicCon 7.

With Robert Corvus we welcome one of Germany's most successful fantasy authors at MagicCon 3. Currently Berg der Macht is the prelude to his new fantasy series. Titles like Drachenmahr, Die Schattenherren and Die Schwertfeuer-Saga preceded it. He also writes for the world's greatest science fiction series: Perry Rhodan. Together with Bernhard Hennen, Robert adapts one of the basic adventure campaigns of the role play The Dark Eye, Die Phileasson-Saga, as a twelve-part series of novels.

Robert has been a full-time writer since 2013. Before that, writing was a hobby and sideline for 25 years. During this time, novels appeared under his pseudonym Bernard Craw in the universes of BattleTech and The Dark Eye.

Robert was a soldier, management consultant and project manager in international corporations. He backpacked around the world, went on pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela and taught karate. After stations in Münster and Sindelfingen, he now lives in Cologne.
