Bruce Hopkins earned a lasting place in the hearts of fantasy fans with one of the bravest roles in Tolkien’s Middle-earth. As Gamling, the loyal captain of King Theoden’s guard, he fought alongside the Riders of Rohan in The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, standing against Sauron’s forces during the legendary Battle of Helm’s Deep.

Born in New Zealand, Bruce Hopkins has enjoyed a long and varied career in film and television. Genre fans will also recognize him from the cult fantasy series Xena: Warrior Princess and Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, where he portrayed several different characters. He has also appeared in several Power Rangers productions and numerous New Zealand film and television productions, showcasing his versatility across a wide range of roles.

At MagicCon 9, fans will have the chance to meet Bruce Hopkins in person, hear stories from his time in Middle-earth, and meet an actor who helped bring one of the greatest fantasy sagas of all time to life.
